The traditional presentation of shamrocks to the soldiers dates back to the early 1900s and used to be performed by the Queen Mother (Prince William's great-grandmother) prior to her death in 2002. The tradition was then carried out by Princess Anne, and will now be performed by Kate. ( Access Hollywood )
