First Lady Michelle Obama Stumping For Blumenthal - For the third time in about a month, Connecticut's Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal is looking to the White House for campaign support.

First lady Michelle Obama is headlining a fundraising event Monday at the Palace Theater in Stamford to stump for Blumenthal, in a close race with the Republican candidate, former wrestling executive Linda McMahon.

The candidates are battling to fill the seat now held by retiring U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd.

The first lady is the latest national political figure to stump for the state attorney general.

President Barack Obama, as well as former President Bill Clinton, came to Connecticut last month to help Blumenthal raise money and rally supporters. ( Associated Press )
